New York Webquests

Introduction

The New York Webquest projects were created to enhance the current Fourth Grade Social Studies curriculum. The New York State Education Department is asking that the students of New York conform to the higher standards that the NYSED has created. In order for our fourth grade students to become more familiar with the history of New York, we have designed these webquests with projects that will be collected and kept in a binder to use for future references. Although not all of the information in these webquests refer to New York alone, it is pertinent information that fourth grade students need to become familiar with and learn. The students will also use the webpages as an interactive learning tool.

The webquests are broken down into units that have links of information and activities that can be used as a teaching/learning tool that coincides with the textbook and activities used within the classroom. These are to be used to enhance learning, not to replace instruction and textbooks.

This site was updated and enhanced Summer 2001.
