The primary objective of the Pre-Kindergarten
program is to provide age- and developmentally - appropriate
activities for four-year-olds. The focus is on providing
a safe and nurturing environment that promotes physical,
social, emotional and cognitive development of young children
while responding to the needs of the district's families.
The program is reinforced through parent education and
involvement.

The Pre-K program is funded by the district
and is strictly voluntary. It is open to all eligible children
who:
- Reside in the CLCS district (tuition students may
attend if space permits)
- Will be four years old by September 1st
- Are properly immunized
In the 2006-07 school year the program was
offered in two half-day sessions, five days a week, in the
Elementary Building. Based on enrollment, we had three half-day
classes: the morning session from 8 to 11 AM, and the afternoon
session from 12 noon to 3 PM.
Bussing is available to and from school. Breakfast is available at the AM session,
and lunch is available at the PM session, for those who choose to participate.
Questions about the Pre-K program? Call the
elementary office, (716) 753-5841.
