Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew Books Needed
To encourage middle grades students to select books for pleasure reading, Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew books are sought to expand the mystery section of the school library. Drop them off at the Middle Grades/High School Library or speak with library assistant Mark Teets, (716) 753-5831.
Student Recycling Projects
Students in Jane Lewis’ and Chris Rammacher’s classes are collecting used inkjet and laser printer cartridges, and old cell phones which still work (but which need not have chargers), for a recycling project. The on-going recycling program is also a fund-raiser which will enable the students to purchase educational equipment, such as a computer, for their classroom. In 2005-06 they also recycled 7 tons of paper and 14,000 beverage cans! To donate used printer cartridges or cell phones, drop them off at any school office for recycling, or contact Chris Rammacher at crammacher@e2ccb.org.
Games Needed
High School students who
finish lunch early may enjoy supervised, unstructured
time in the gym. Some like to toss balls, some
talk quietly. It would be fun for students to have
some games to play, such as Balderdash, Checkers,
Chess, Dominos, Jenga, LCR, Mancala, Twister, Uno,
or Yahtzee. Playing cards or hand-held games would
also be appreciated. Games which take a long time
to play, such a Monopoly, will not be useful. Donate
games at any school office. Thank you!
