recently convened to discuss the current state of public education and to revisit the potential of shared collaborations. As a result of a February 2011 joint meeting of the four boards of education, the districts have established an Ad Hoc Leadership Team comprised of two board members and the superintendent from each school district. This Leadership Team met regularly to begin the process of engaging the school communities to develop a plan for a regional approach to education.
At the first meeting of the Leadership Team in March 2011, team members agreed that the Leadership Team as a whole will make recommendations to the respective schools boards for consideration. Each district created an Advisory Committee to gather and share information within that district.
The ASSET Leadership Team is currently waiting on a decision regarding possible regional high school legislation coming out of the 2012 legislative session.
