What is Girl Scouts?
At Girl Scouts, we prepare girls for a lifetime of leadership, success, and adventure in a safe, no-limits place designed for and by girls!
How? Through engaging, challenging, and fun activities like earning badges, going on awesome trips, selling cookies, exploring science, getting outdoors, and doing community service projects. A big part of being a Girl Scout is taking action to change the world or at least your corner of it.
At Girl Scouts, girls get to lead their own adventure and team up in an all-girl environment to choose the exciting, hands-on activities that spark their interest and curiosity.
The idea is to learn by doing, and at Girl Scouts, there's plenty of that!
Along the way, girls gain important skills in four areas that form the foundation of the Girl Scout program.
The 4 Pillars of the Girl Scout Program
STEM: Innovating, exploring, or inventing with science, tech, engineering, or math. With a desire to help others, there's the potential for some awesome scientific breakthroughs.
Life Skills: This topic covers practical skills to create problem solvers and leaders. This topic is for civic engagement, community service, self-care, and more!
Outdoors: Nature is where many favorite activities happen like sports, camping, and exploring the wilds (and the backyard).
Entrepreneurship: Big word, but it basically means 'business owner!' Be the boss! This is where girls tackle marketing and money skills.
While these subjects may be taught at school or experienced through a club or team, Girl Scouts is a unique way to participate and have ownership over results. And because our program is girl-led, girls decide what they'll do ... together!
Sound like she belongs? It's time for Girl Scouts!
