An asymptomatic individual, who was present on our Chautauqua Lake campus for a brief time on Monday, November 16, 2020, has tested positive for COVID-19.
We have been working directly with the Chautauqua County Department of Health (CCDOH) and are taking all of the recommended steps to ensure the safety of our students and staff. The individual has been isolated and the CCDOH has identified a small group of individuals as close contacts. This individual and the close contacts will not return to our campus until they have completed quarantine/isolation procedures for COVID-19 as directed by the CCDOH. If you are not contacted by the Department of Health or Chautauqua Lake CSD, you can assume that your child was determined not to have been in close contact. Only those individuals who have had close contact with the positive case will be contacted.
We will continue to follow all Department of Health protocols and provide further updates if additional steps need to be take by our program. We ask that you please continue to monitor yourself and your families for COVID-19 symptoms and stay home if you are sick. In addition, please contact your healthcare provider or our school nurses (716-753-5819) if you develop symptoms or if you have any additional questions or concerns.
More information on the symptoms of COVID-19 can be found at https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/home or on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCov/index.html.
Finally, we ask the you please respect the privacy of any individual in our school community who has tested positive and continue to focus on the measures we are taking to protect the health and welfare of our community.
Thank you for your flexibility, understanding, and continued support as we navigate through these challenges together. If you have questions or concerns regarding the information in this letter, please contact us.
