Village of Mayville "Boil Water Order"

A boil water order is in effect for Village of Mayville Water Customers until further notice. Due to the work that was done on the well, the system must be disinfected and tested to ensure that there are no harmful bacteria present before you use the water without boiling. Water for drinking, cooking, making ice and brushing teeth must be brought to a rolling boil for 1 minute then cooled prior to use. Do not drink the water without boiling it first or use bottled water until further notice. Customers must also reduce water usage by at least fifty percent during this time.  Reduce water by taking the following actions: Do not use water outside to fill pools, wash cars, or water lawn and gardens. Limit clothes washing. Use paper plates and disposable silverware to avoid washing dishes. Use less water for baths and showers.  Do not let water run while brushing your teeth. You will be notified when these orders are lifted.
