As the new school year approaches, we realize that families are eagerly awaiting information regarding back to school procedures. Since late June, the Leadership Team’s focus has been working to ensure our students and staff can have a safe and healthy return to in-person instruction this fall. We have also developed a COVID Advisory Team to assist us in developing plans for the coming school year. This team includes a variety of stakeholders, including parents, community members, teachers, support staff, building operations staff, administrators, legal counsel, board members, school nurses, and our school physician. Many of these team members served on our original reopening team for 2020-2021.

Late last week, we received guidance documents from the State Education Department (SED), Center for Disease Control (CDC), American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and Chautauqua County of Department of Health (CCDOH). This coming Friday, August 20th, our Advisory Team will meet to analyze the guidance and recommendations to establish procedures and protocols that will impact instruction, wellness and safety, and operations. 

We encourage parents and community members to visit our website, specifically our “Back to School” tab. This section of our website will include links to current guidance documents, as well as this link that parents can use to submit questions.  Our Advisory Team will use these questions to develop a package of information that will help you and your family prepare for the new school year.  If you are unable to access the Google form, you may also direct your questions, comments, or concerns via email to the Advisory Team chairs depicted below.
