The Board of Education recently approved the 2023-24 instructional calendar. The Board, district leadership team, teachers and other key stakeholders discussed and analyzed several contributing factors and created a calendar that aligns with the E2CCB instructional calendar and other schools throughout the county.
Some Calendar Contributing Factors:
- Enables our district to continue to move forward with shared/collaborative instructional programming opportunities for Chautauqua Lake students and students from neighboring school districts and schools throughout our region
- Aligns with BOCES programs (CTE, Alt Ed, Special Ed) and other partner school districts for shared services and cost-saving transportation agreements. Chautauqua Lake BOCES Program students gain a full week of instruction
- Provides the New York State required 180 student days
- Allows extra time to prepare for AP exams which are administered in the first weeks of May
- Sports programs/games and practices for winter and spring teams would align with the rest of Section VI
