NOTICE TO DISTRICT RESIDENTS

The Annual School Budget “Public Hearing” will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 6 p.m. in the Secondary Library, Chautauqua Lake Central School, 100 North Erie Street, Mayville NY.  At this time, the proposed budget for the 2026-2027 school year will be presented and reviewed. 

The “Annual District Meeting and Election” will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Chautauqua Lake Central School, 100 North Erie Street, Mayville NY.  Voting hours will be from 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.  Voter parking spaces will be reserved in the parking area during the hours of the vote. 

At this Annual District Meeting and Election, district residents will be voting on the following items:

*Voting for School Board Members.  Three “three-year term” seats on the Board of Education, with the terms beginning on July 1, 2026, and expiring on June 30, 2029, will be on the ballot. 

Candidates must file a nominating petition, containing the valid signatures of at least 25 qualified district voters, with the District Clerk at least thirty (30) days prior to the election (i.e. by 5:00 p.m. EST on Monday, April 20, 2026).  Board Candidate Petitions are available in the District Clerk’s Office, 100 North Erie St., Mayville, NY 14757.  

*School Budget for the 2026-2027 School Year.  District residents will also be voting on the operating budget of the school district for the 2026-2027 school year.  Copies of the proposed budget will be available by April 27, 2026 in the District Office. 

To vote at the May 19th election you must be:

·   A citizen of the United States

·   (At least) Eighteen (18) years of age

·   A resident within the school district for a period of at least thirty (30) days immediately preceding the day of the election

·   Reminder:  At the polls, district voters must affirm residency.  A photo identification, such as a driver’s license, is preferred but not required
