Hello CLCS parents and guardians. This is Ben Spitzer with another brief update regarding our ongoing school initiatives during this coronavirus pandemic.
With respect to Child Nutrition, as we approach Week 5 of our meal program, delivery continues Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 12 Noon. Please note that Friday deliveries will also include breakfast and lunch for Saturday and Sunday. Totes have now been provided for families. Please continue to leave the tote or container outside your door and keep all pets inside during meal drop off. Any meal requests, changes or concerns can be directed to (716) 753-5842.
As for our Child Care program, we continue to partner with the Chautauqua Lake Child Care Center. If you (or someone you know) is in need of child care during this time, please call (716) 753-5851 for more information. Financial assistance is available.
Regarding instructional continuity, you may have already heard that this past week the New York State Education Department announced the cancellation of the June 2020 administration of Regents and released guidance on modifications to requirements for students to graduate. Immediately upon learning this last week, the Chautauqua Lake administrative team and teachers began working to develop an equitable grading plan for the fourth quarter. This information will be shared with parents and students as soon as it is finalized.
We will continue to send out instructional packets for our students on a weekly basis. If your child needs additional instructional support please reach out to his or her teacher and or counselor. We want to continue to provide comprehensive instructional support for all our students in this remote learning environment.
This announcement and related additional information can be found on our district website at www.clake.org.
In closing, I hope you and your families continue to be safe. Stay strong. Stay positive. Stay well as we stay apart together.
