Good evening parents and guardians, this is Ben Spitzer with another brief update on our continued work at CLCS during this coronavirus pandemic. As you may know, Governor Cuomo has issued yet another Executive Order extending the required school closure through May 15th. As a result, we will continue with our three plans for Child Nutrition, Child Care and Continuity of Instruction. If you or someone you know is in need of meal delivery or child care, please visit our website for information to sign up for the program.
As for information regarding instruction, we will continue with weekly delivery of necessary instructional materials with the next delivery this coming Wednesday, April 22nd. Given the new extension of school closure and the possibility of another extension beyond that, on Wednesday we will be providing information regarding progress monitoring and evaluation of student work for the fourth quarter as well. I will hold off with a call today and, instead, do a school messenger call to parents and guardians Wednesday evening following that delivery. After that, I will continue to provide weekly written updates to be posted on our website and our Facebook page on Saturday, but in order to lessen the stress of too many calls in a week, I will provide school messenger calls every other week.
I know this experience is extremely stressful for you and your children. Trust that we are working very hard to minimize this stress while trying to ensure that we meet your child’s individual needs. Our teachers and administrators stand ready to address your individual concerns and our mental health professionals are on call to assist with any and all social/emotional issues for you or your children. We are there for you. We care for you.
Stay well.
