During the COVID-19 pandemic, all New York State school districts are required to identify child care services for the students and families of their district. During this health crisis it is understood that parents and care-givers identified as essential care workers will need child care during what would normally be the school day.
The Chautauqua Lake School District continues to partner with the Chautauqua Lake Child Care Center (CLCCC) for these services. Information about CLCCC is available on their website, www.clccc.org.
The CLCCC Administration is readily available to help with the registration process:
- Please call (716) 753-5851 or email childcare@clake.org to schedule a tour, ask questions and to inquire about registration.
- Staff will assist you to complete a CLCCC enrollment packet.
- Financial assistance is available for all essential employees. CLCCC staff will assist you to complete an application for DHHS subsidies or to obtain other assistance.
- You will need to complete a brief parent orientation, to discuss CLCCC policies and procedures and set up a start date.
As standard operating procedure, children and staff at CLCCC are encouraged to wash their hands frequently and daily disinfect all toys and surfaces. Staff at CLCCC also maintain a regular cleaning schedule of all building items and toys. CLCCC continues to be vigilant about cleaning and disinfecting practices to assist in the prevention of the spread of all illnesses/diseases.
CLCCC consults with the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, Chautauqua County Department of Health, Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and all physicians in our county regularly for recommendations and guidance about minimizing the risk and spread of infection. A temporary change to the health care plan during this COVID-19 pandemic that has been implemented is to check temperatures at the door of all children and staff. If the temperature is at 100 degrees the child or staff will be sent home and able to return after 72 hours fever-free.
In addition to CLCCC's regular disinfecting practices during its operating hours, Chautauqua Lake's maintenance staff does a thorough cleaning of each classroom and common educational spaces (gym, playground, cafeteria) each night.
