Drinking Water Order Issued
May 05, 2021

The Village of Mayville has issued a drinking water order beginning Thursday, May 6, and ending Thursday, May 13. To support the village in this effort, Chautauqua Lake CSD is encouraging students and staff to use bottled water during this time. Water (bottled) will also be available for everyone at all three school entrance locations. If you have any questions, please contact the District Office at (716) 753-5808. Thank you for your continued support and flexibility as we navigate through these unique challenges together.'

IMPORTANT DRINKING WATER ORDER
Mandatory Water Conservation Order
DATE: May 6, 2021
TO: Mayville Water Customers

On May 11, 2021 the Mayville Water Department is installing a permanent water pump in new well #4. This pump replacement will take approximately 10-hours to complete which means we will be relying only on water from the water storage tank to supply the water system during this process. If during the pump replacement process we get below a safe level of water in the storage tank we will be forced to use one of the PFNA contaminated wells to supply emergency water to the system.

If we need to use a PFNA contaminated water source a “Do Not Drink Order” will be implemented. We are ordering all customers to please limit their water usage to reduce the draw on the storage tank beginning Thursday, May 6th and continuing until Thursday, May 13th. Please reduce water usage by 50%. If the pump replacement goes well and we do not need emergency water we will, at minimum, need to implement a “Boil Water Order” to conduct water bacteria analysis.

Please call John Buxton - Public Works Superintendent, should you have any questions pertaining to this water conservation order.
