Over the weekend you may have seen media reports that New York State was going to change requirements for mask wearing for students and staff while in school or on school grounds. The State initiated this by releasing a letter from the health commissioner to the CDC expressing the state's intent to change its mask requirements. However, this afternoon we received official notice from the New York State Education Department that schools are required to operate under their existing procedures until further notice.
 
As soon as we receive additional information and guidance from the State Education department we will reconvene our reopening committee, review the information, update our protocols, and share it with our entire Chautauqua Lake community as quickly as possible.  Until then, as required, we will continue with our current masking expectations.
