CLCS Teams Earn Top Honors at Chautauqua County Envirothon
On Thursday, 24 teams from across the region gathered at Camp Merz to compete in the annual Chautauqua County Envirothon—a hands-on, outdoor academic competition focused on environmental science and natural resource management.
Representing Chautauqua Lake Central School, two student teams participated in challenges spanning forestry, soils, wildlife, aquatics, and current environmental issues. After a full day of competition, CLCS proudly finished in 1st and 3rd place overall.
The 1st place team will now advance to the New York State Envirothon, held at SUNY Cortland in late May, where they’ll represent Chautauqua County and compete against top teams from across the state.
This achievement reflects months of preparation, with many students dedicating time and energy to study and fieldwork since November. Congratulations to all participants on a tremendous accomplishment and best of luck to our team heading to States!
