The district goals depicted below were developed through a collaborative process that included representatives from administration, teachers, support staff, student body, community and parents. These goals will set the foundation for our annual building-level priorities. The Elementary priorities described below were crafted by administration and members of our Building Team. They will be shared with faculty, staff, and parents.

District Goal #1: School Culture & Climate

All students and staff will contribute to a supportive and positive environment that promotes integrity, tolerance, and respect for self and others. A focus will be placed on constructive community interactions and strengthening student transitions.

Elementary Priorities Outcome Measures
Proactively strengthen home/school community connections to support participation and collaboration. The school will use results from parent surveys to gauge and improve the effectiveness of both classroom and school-wide communication tools.
Model, recognize and reinforce positive student behavior through PBIS sponsored incentives. 100% of elementary students will show growth in their ability to demonstrate being safe, responsible and respectful as evident by monthly data tracking.
Increase student ownership over daily procedures and building initiatives to strengthen connections within the school community. The PBIS committee will collaborate with student leadership groups to facilitate monthly opportunities for students to engage in school-wide activities (including, but not limited to house meetings and service projects) with peers from different grade levels to facilitate mentoring and teamwork.
Increase collaboration with partnering school districts to facilitate collaboration and strengthen student connections.  Through classroom and/or extra-curricular activities, all classrooms in grades 4 through 6 will engage in at least one collaborative event with Ripley elementary students. Events will be developed based on the previous year’s feedback from all students/staff involved.

District Goal #2: Student Safety & Quality of Life

All students and staff will model and encourage safe, socially appropriate skills and healthy lifestyles. A balance of social, emotional, physical and mental awareness aligned learning activities will lead to a comprehensive understanding of independence and empathy.

Elementary Priorities Outcome Measures
Provide programs and experiences that align with the behavior matrix and promote positive character traits within the school setting and the community at large. At least 80% of students will be recognized by school staff and/or classmates for demonstrating monthly character traits.
Staff and student members of each PBIS House will model exemplary character traits and collaborate with our student production crew to share with the school community.
Incorporate daily, structured opportunities for students to engage in social emotional wellness activities. All classrooms will participate in weekly social emotional wellness activities, along with ongoing social-emotional check-ins that will be reviewed by the counseling team and shared at monthly Instructional Support Team meetings.
Continuously collect, evaluate, and analyze students’ self-reports using screening and progress monitoring tools to inform supports and programming. Members of the counseling and Instructional Support Team (IST) will review benchmark data monthly to support individual students and inform building-wide interventions and programming

District Goal #3: Student Achievement & Leadership

All staff will provide highly effective, engaging, differentiated instruction and extracurricular activities in which students will actively participate to their fullest potential. Students will graduate with the life skills, leadership qualities and technological abilities necessary to succeed in their future endeavors.

Elementary Priorities Outcome Measures
Engage and challenge student learning and academic achievement with differentiated instruction by regularly evaluating, targeting, and responding to individual student performance.

Tier 1 -  100% of students will demonstrate growth on district benchmark assessments (FastBridge) used in early literacy, math and reading.

Tier 2 & Tier 3 - Given target interventions, all students will demonstrate a positive trend line toward the goal set by AIS providers and Instructional Support Team (IST).

Grade level and department teams will analyze and align ELA curriculum assessment tools in order to ensure equity-centered instructional practices and increase student performance in reading and writing.

Ensure opportunities for students to learn in environments containing an abundance of reading and writing materials. 90% of students will participate in and complete the objectives of our Hooked on Books reading incentive program.
Provide schoolwide enrichment opportunities that optimize academic achievement, personal growth, and a sense of belonging within the school community. Enrichment curriculum will encompass diverse STEAM related resources that facilitate synthesis and application of learning, while incorporating students’ areas of interest.

District Goal #4: Real World Applications & Citizenship

All staff will develop curriculum and instruction that enables students to explore, learn and grow as individuals. Students will engage in hands-on learning experiences that reinforce a successful transition to college and/or career while properly preparing them to be good citizens.

Elementary Priorities Outcome Measures
Foster student awareness and engagement in activities within the community and outside world.

All students will collaborate within their PBIS House to participate in at least two service projects throughout the school year. At least one service project will be student initiated and developed.

Incorporate opportunities for students to understand, explore, and participate in real world problem solving.

All grade levels will engage in three multi-disciplinary, authentic STEAM explorations within the school year using the elementary makerspace or secondary STEM lab.

District Goal #5: Collaboration & Communication

All students and staff will engage in activities that promote collaboration and foster positive communication and growth. Opportunities will be provided for students to work together using active listening and effective communication skills that embrace diverse perspectives.

Elementary Priorities Outcome Measures

Design activities that teach and promote respectful communication and cooperation among students.

The PBIS committee will collaborate with student leadership groups to facilitate monthly opportunities for students to engage in school-wide activities (including, but not limited to house meetings and service projects) with peers from different grade levels to facilitate mentoring and teamwork.

Proactively strengthen home/school community connections to support participation and collaboration. Each classroom will share at least one spotlight feature using one of the school’s communication platforms (i.e. morning announcements, monthly newsletter, District website, Class Dojo post).
Two staff members will annually serve as active members of the Parent Teacher Council by attending monthly meetings, sharing teacher input, participating in event planning, and routinely relaying information back to elementary staff.

District Goal #6: Innovative Programs & Opportunities

All students will participate in programs that are dynamic and relevant to the demands of the outside world. The staff will actively design and integrate opportunities and partnerships that employ relevant learning experiences for students while furthering our destination district status.

Elementary Priorities Outcome Measures
District staff will seek and utilize educational partnerships to enhance instructional programs and initiatives.

Staff will share information from recently attended professional development sessions at monthly faculty meetings, including session notes and/or resources.

The Liaison/Advisory Committee will collaborate with administration and the District’s educational partners to ensure professional development offerings align with district goals and building priorities in an effort to create more meaningful and consistent staff participation.

Provide experiential opportunities for students, parents, and community members to view and interact with student created projects. Staff will provide a mechanism that allows the community to respond and/or interact with students’ showcased work and/or performance (i.e. art showcases, music concerts, science fair, other students' work projects).
Expand after school programming to include STEAM related opportunities using innovative materials and technology. At least 70 % of students will attend interest-driven, STEAM related opportunities after school at least once per month.
